Be Responsible for Your Energy

Please Take Responsibility for the Energy you bring into this space. ~ Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor

I’ve been mulling over this post for awhile now. Especially as I continue to learn about energy, our bodies, how energy impacts our bodies and how our own thoughts impact our energy, etc.

And I realize that not only do we owe it to ourselves to be aware of the kinds of thoughts we have and the energy they carry for our own health, wellbeing and manifestations … but we owe it to our fellow human beings, animals, nature and the planet we live on to pay attention to our energy. After all, when you cut through all the various layers of the ego and its illusory “separateness” from the rest of society and the world, you see that at our most basic level, we are all made up of the same matter … the same molecules, atoms, the same “stuff.”

And therefore, what we do to ourselves and what we bring into a room has a ripple effect on the environment and people around us. Science is finally catching up to what ancient wisdom and teachings have been saying for thousands of years. Doctors are finally acknowledging the connection between our thoughts and our bodies, between the energy our thoughts have and the consequences of that energy in our bodies. Trapped negative energy and emotion will inevitably manifest into something physical if we don’t release it.

And by that same token, what we bring into a room, into our daily environments will manifest as well. So what kind of environment and relationships do you want to create in your daily world? How do you want to impact those around you? Do you want to be the person that everyone walks on eggshells around? Do you want to be the person that everyone shies away from because you’re angry or moody or stand-offish?

How do you want to impact your world … because it starts with the dialogue in your mind and your overall disposition and energy. Whether you realize it or not, we all pick up on energy on a very instinctual level. We all assess situations and atmospheres and people all the time.

So whether it means taking time each morning to meditate and then going for a walk mid-morning at work to “brush off” some of the morning hustle and bustle … whether it means taking a two minute break (EVERYONE has two minutes) to breathe it out a bit and bring yourself back to center, whether it means coming home and walking your dog or just going outside and walking barefoot in the grass for a few minutes to decompress … listening to music that uplifts your or relaxes you. Whatever works FOR YOU, use it.

Trust me, tasks, people, demands on your time can wait. In fact, those people and tasks will likely thank you for taking care of your needs and energy before approaching them. We all do SO much better in every aspect of our lives when we are feeling calm, balanced and joyful.

So do whatever it takes to relax and find joy in your moments. Because you will not believe the power it has on yourself, what you attract into your world and what you give to those around you.

You won’t believe it until you see it for yourself 🙂

Until next time my friends <3
